Roasted onion apple dip – fat free and sugar free

Roasted onion apple dip – fat free and sugar free

Great company for raw vegetable snacks, drown them in this flavoursome dip. Here is part two of the savoury approach to using stevia to add sweetness to your food. This one is nearly as quick as the spicy ketchup; you only need to put the quartered onions and apples under the grill for a few minutes whilst you get the raw vegies cut and sliced. Makes a small bowl Prep time: 5min Grill time: 5-10min You need: 1-2 apples with or without skin (100-200g) 2 onions (200g) (I prefer red onions as they are slightly sweeter) 50g Tomato Puree double concentrate (no added salt) 3 teesp. Lemon Juice (fresh or from the bottle) 2-4 knife-tips Stevia-sweet 90% powder dissolved in 1 table spoons hot water 50ml hot water (approximate – use more if consistency is not as required) ¼ teesp. Black pepper ½ teesp. Thyme ½ teesp. Rosemary Note: getting the sweetness to the desired level is a matter of trial and error, the best thing is to start with a smaller amount of whatever Stevia you...

No added fat baked cheese cake – no base needed.

No added fat baked cheese cake – no base needed.

Awesome! This cheesecake recipe saves you calories without compromising the classic flavour. Now, as you can see – I am not an expert in avoiding a cracking cheese cake. Mine usually crack and that’s ok with me – I am not entering a cheese cake beauty contest – I just want to eat it. I know there is a lot of info out there to help you make the perfect cheese cake, so help is available if you don’t like the rustic home-made look. You can always cover the cracks up by decorating the well cooled cake with fresh fruit - adding another dimension. What I like best about my cheese cake is that I know that it does not contain any nasty ingredients that could jeopardise my diet goals. As you already know from my Super light dark Cocoa/ Chocolate mousse post, I don’t want any unhealthy fats in my food. So I stripped an already lower calorie no-base cheese cake recipe, where...

Mrs Meiers oat bites

Mrs Meiers oat bites

Great healthy biscuits you can make for when visitors turn up on short notice. This is not a newly invented recipe; my family has used it for years, they remind me of my childhood. I adapted the original composition that my mother brought home from the kindergarten she works at. The cooking lady, Mrs Meier, had made them with the kids there and everyone loved them – because the bites did not have a name they are just called “Mrs Meier biscuits” The great thing was that we were able to make them our selves (usually on Sundays – the shops were never open, so we had to make our own sweets) because of the easy measuring units: Cups – (I grew up in Germany where we do not normally use cup measured recipes) I used insist on using my favourite cup with the flowers on, -tipping and –pouring, stirring – and the best thing: tasting... Yum yum! Children love tasting – since...

Super light dark Cocoa/ Chocolate mousse

Super light dark Cocoa/ Chocolate mousse

My favourite no sugar, high protein and next to no fat This is for everyone who is desperate to venture to the dark side of Chocolate treats to answer the calling of their lusting mind – this time you can be the skinny angel keeping on flying with a light conscience and tummy. A few months back, whilst being on the best way to working my way to my dream body, I got an un-ignorable craving for a chocolaty treat. In my desperation, I searched the web for a suitable recipe that would tick all the boxes in terms of no-fat and no-carb, the sugar bit I would take care of my usual way – Stevia. Because I love fluffy and creamy food textures above all, but I am a bit of a fat-phobic so most mousse recipes are out – at least when it comes to feeling good whilst feasting on a treat, the recipe from “Baking Bites” was the perfect starting point. This...
